VIV Turkey played host to the global poultry industry
VIV Turkey opened its doors to local and international trade visitors for the seventh time in Istanbul Expo Center this June.
This year’s three-day fair attracted 512 exhibitors, with 153 from Turkey and 359 from abroad, as they presented their newest products and services.
The fair was officially opened following the speeches of Deputy Secretary of Republic of Turkey Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Mehmet Hadi Tunç, Prof. Dr. Rüveyde Akbay, President of World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA) Turkish branch, and Bekir Çakıcı, General Manager of HKF Trade Fairs. Additionally Deputy General Director of Republic of Turkey Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Burhan Demirok and Istanbul Provincial Director Hamit Aygül and other related association presidents were also present at the opening ceremony.
This year’s fair showed an increase in exhibitor participation of 10% compared to the 2013 edition, and is set apart from other VIV fairs that the poultry sector is exhibited exclusively, making it the world’s second largest VIV fair.
Besides breaking the record of exhibitors, this year’s show also broke the visitor record. This year’s edition was visited by 16,122 sector professionals, double that of 2013.
The show was visited by purchasing committees of about 350 people coming from all around the world. Purchasing committees members from Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Sudan, Tatarstan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan and UAE held meetings with the exhibitors.
Overall, this year’s VIV Turkey provided a platform for leading Turkish companies in the poultry meat, egg, equipment and technology sectors to develop international relations and create new export markets.
Among other seminars, a panel 'Poultry Sector and its Future Goals' was jointly organised by HKF Trade Fairs and Turkish Poultry Promotion Group. The exhibitors Tavsan, Munters Turkey and Muyang also held seminars during the fair.
VIV Turkey has been given the UFI Approved Event certificate by the world’s leading fair industry union UFI and is also a member of the European Agricultural Fairs Federation. An international trademark of the Dutch-based VNU Exhibitions Europe, VIV Turkey is today the sole poultry trade fair both in Turkey and the surrounding region.
Stand bookings for the eighth edition of VIV Turkey which will be held from April 27-29 2017 are now open for registration.
