US accounts for 2% of Mafrig beef unit's exports in 2017
This year, the US accounted for about 2% of the volume exported by Mafrig Global Foods SA's beef division in Brazil - a percentage equivalent to approximately 1% of the Brazilian total net revenue, Mafrig said.
The US market opened up to imports of Brazilian fresh beef in August 2016 and has gone through circumstantial adjustments.
Marfrig clarified that the previous suspension imposed by the US is not related to a sanitary issue, and is confident that the Brazilian government will take all necessary measures to quickly resume Brazilian fresh beef exports to the country.
The suspension does not affect other markets supplied by the company.
continues to sell its products to Brazil and more than 100 countries. The company also continues to supply the US market through its units located in Uruguay.
