An eFeedLink Exclusive

Price summary

Prices moved higher.

Market analysis

AA broiler

AA broiler prices rebounded from extremely low levels as slaughterhouses took the opportunity to restock depleted inventories. Prices increased 6.6% on average over the week.

Chick prices rose to the range of RMB0.75-1/chick.

China breed broiler

China breed broiler sales strengthened as well, lifting prices higher by 6.1% amid stronger demand.

However, as broiler farmers remained cautious, slow demand for day old chick held prices soft.

Market forecast

Demand for broiler is unlikely to be robust after the Dragon Boat Festival holidays, partly due to lack of festive stimulation and partly because slaughterhouses have stocked ample inventories. Prices are seen weak in the coming weeks amid slow demand.

RMB=US$0.1471 (Jun 12)
