Cantrell launches new poultry skinner

Cantrell poultry processing equipment sales and service company has developed the new NS-2004 Overhead Neck and Shoulder skinner.

The Skinner, located in-line after the cropper, uses the peeler roller system to remove skin from the neck and shoulder area of eviscerated birds. A newly-designed frame for better roller support combined with a 2-hp drive creates a better skinning application.

To further the advancement of the previous "neck only" skinner in the cleaning area, Cantrell has redesigned the water rail to create a broader, more evenly spaced, water spraying application. A new design at the exit end of the NS-2004 allows for better skin removal from the support blocks of the rollers, according to Cantrell.

The company has advanced the pivoted-mounting bracket for better support and easier adjustment. Capable of moving vertically, horizontally, and radially allows for a more precise adjustment to the presentation of the bird.

Sealpac introduces new product for secure packaging

Sealpac introduces ShrinkStyle packaging, which is a fully automated system combining the benefits of thermoforming and shrink technology.

A thermoformer forms a pack out of the bottom film, which is then filled with the product, vacumised and sealed. They fit the product like a second skin.

ShrinkStyle is suitable on Sealpac's full range of RE-series thermoformers, and represents an efficient use of materials and a fully controlled shrink packaging process, said the company. Due to the perfect fit, ShrinkStyle allows for unique shrink packs, which combine product safety with a nice appearance.

The ShrinkStyle system is suitable for fresh poultry: even whole chickens are sealed hermetically, despite their special anatomy which can present challenges to the processing industry. The ShrinkStyle films also fit whole birds, optionally placed on a carrier tray, like a second skin within the controlled shrink packaging process.
