Romer Labs provides tools for mycotoxin analysis

 

 

 

Together with its sister company BIOMIN, Romer Labs' participation at the VIV Asia was dedicated to provide microbiological sampling tools for livestock facilities and solutions for mycotoxin testing, featuring its AgraStrip® WATEX® and Multi-Mycotoxin Analysis 50+.


One of the event highlights was the AgraStrip WATEX system, an extended line of water-based mycotoxin test kits that enable the testing for multiple mycotoxins from the same sample extract quickly and accurately. A live demonstration was conducted to show participants how a rapid analysis of mycotoxins in samples of raw materials such as corn and wheat can be done on-site in three simple steps, "extract, dilute and analyse".


The test kits are available in a quantitative format and are used with the AgraVision™ reader to provide objective results. Eco-friendly, operators can conduct safe and fast mycotoxin analyses within minutes. AgraStrip WATEX Total Aflatoxin, Total Fumonisin and Zearalenone methods are USDA-GIPSA approved.


Effective April 1, Romer Labs Singapore has launched the Multi-Mycotoxin Analysis 50+, an innovative approach to the "most powerful" analytic technology for mycotoxin detection: a single report to provide specific information on any of more than 50 mycotoxins present in the sample and insights into other metabolites and co-contamination levels. Romer Labs says it is currently the only analytical service laboratory offering a service as comprehensive as this. The service is offered in its laboratories in Austria, the US and Singapore.

 

A day before the VIV Asia, Romer Labs was at the Mycotoxin 2019 conference, delivering a presentation on "Mycotoxin Risk Assessment: Beyond Regulations". The company investigated unregulated mycotoxins often classified as "emerging mycotoxins" and "masked mycotoxins", discussed the effects of mycotoxin co-occurrence, and introduced a method for analysing samples of grain and feed for the simultaneous presence of multiple mycotoxins.
