Market analysis

Production costs of lysine increased as corn prices rose further amid projections of low harvests due to pest threats. Hence, even as hog feed demand stayed flat, a handful of producers lifted price quotes to sustain profit margins.

In Europe, price quotes stayed at EUR1.20/kg.

Market forecast

The depreciation of renminbi should boost export demands, lending support to lysine market in conjunction with high corn costs.
