Iran and Pakistan reach agreement on halal meat production

 

 

Iran and Pakistan are likely to sign the proposed Memorandum of Understanding regarding halal meat production on Tuesday (May 31).

 

Earlier, the Governor of Iran's Khorasan Razavi Province, Mahmoud Salahi, accompanied by a 30-member delegation, paid a visit to Lahore Meat Company and Mashhad Meat Industrial Complex.

 

Provincial Minister for Food, Abdul Ghafoor, Commissioner Lahore and Secretary Livestock & Dairy Development, Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh, were also present. Ghafoor informed the Governor that Lahore Meat Complex is a joint venture of Pakistan and Iran.

 

Salahi said Iran would provide all out assistance for Lahore Meat Processing Plant.

 

Chief Executive of Lahore Meat Company, Dr. Hamid Jalil, stated that 68% of this project had been completed and will be finished by the end of July this year.
