Denmark allowed to export heat-treated pork products to China
Denmark and China have signed an agreement on imports of heat-treated pork products to the Chinese markets, paving the way for Danish companies to export sausages, salami and other pork products.
The Danish Embassy in China has confirmed five agreements on food and agriculture, in which two Danish companies gained approval to export heat-treated pork products and poultry to China.
One of the companies is the Tulip Food Company, while the other is Danish Crown, which is also Tulip's parent company.
Denmark, Germany, Canada and the US are China's biggest pork exporters. However, only live pigs, frozen and fresh pork are allowed into the Chinese market currently.
