Prices were mostly higher.
Even as demand for chicken products stayed flat, tightened availability strengthened the prices of AA broiler nationwide. Several slaughterhouses incurred losses as broiler prices increased almost 5% while those of chicken products remained weak.
With AA broiler prices on the rise, sales of day-old chick improved, lifting prices by RMB0.40-0.80/bird to the range of RMB2.80-3/bird.
China breed broiler
Prices of native broilers in the southern parts of China continued to plummet amid slack demand, hence dragging the weekly average price down by 2.6%. In the north, prices of China breed broiler moved higher, albeit modestly
Prices of fast-growth native chicks dipped RMB0.10-0.40/bird to RMB0.40-1.70/bird.
The upward scope of AA broiler will be limited as slaughterhouses, which are making losses, will not be keen to stockpile inventories. Moreover, supplies of finishing broiler are expected to increase in the coming period.
China breed broiler market will continue to stay soft with supply exceeding demand.
