Aviagen strengthens operations in Latin America

 

 
Poultry breeding company, Aviagen, has strengthened its operations in Latin America, Brazil and the Caribbean with some changes to the senior personnel.

 

Juan Diez, who has been with the com­pany for six years as Sales Manager of Central America and the Caribbean will maintain his role but has relocated to Medellin, Colombia with the aim of improving customer contact in the region. He continues to report directly to Ullrich Koehler, Busi­ness Manager for Latin America.

 

Ricardo Valle was named Regional Technical Man­ager for Latin America. He has agreed to expand his role and combine responsibility for both Latin America and the Brazilian technical teams. Mario Padron will continue to service customers in the region while concentrating exclusively on key accounts in Mexico and Chile.

 

 

JBS appoints new President and Chief Operating Officer

 

 
JBS SA, the world's largest beef processor, has named Richard Vesta as the President and Chief Operating Officer of JBS USA LLC.

 

Vesta previously served as President of Moyer Packing, Packerland Holdings and then later became President and Chief Executive of JBS Packerland following JBS' acquisi­tion of Smithfield Foods' beef division.

 

On his most recent promotion, he will work with Wesley Batista, Chief Executive Officer, to create the operating structure and business strategies of JBS Packerland and JBS Swift, as well as manage both entities.
