*Commonly referred to in China as liquid methionine is methionine hydroxyl analogue, a liquid source of supplemental methionine.

Global markets

In Europe, quotes for Q2 orders stayed at EUR3.30-3.35/kg.

Market analysis

Lacking momentum, methionine prices consolidated lower after the recent week's momentary rise. Buyers were reluctant to stock inventories as poultry feed demand stayed flat.

Market forecast

Cautious mood of buyers will keep trade light in China's methionine market. However, methionine prices, which are approaching record-low levels, are unlikely to fall prominently.
