Japan's Sojitz to establish tuna breeding in Vietnam
Feasible studies on possibilities to develop tuna cultivation in Vietnam's central province of Khanh Hoa has been made by Japanese firm Sojitz, said the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
The Japanese group highly valuated the potentials of tuna cultivation in the Vietnamese central province, the association said.
However, the firm will make final conclusion after complete finding of other factors on natural conditions as well as the Vietnamese policies on tuna cultivation.
Sojitz also expects for more cooperation from local partners, said the VASEP.
Tuna is one of important exporting seafood for Vietnam. In 2011, the country earned tuna export revenues of US$379.4 million, up 29.4% on year.
