China calls on local governments to store poultry and aquaculture products
The move is aimed at supporting the domestic agriculture sectors, which have been left reeling after the COVID-19 outbreak affected supplies and production, reported Reuters.
China'sstate planner and agriculture ministry said poultry and aquaculture producers will receive boosted fiscal and tax support from the government to help them sustain production after imposed COVID-19 measures.
The farming industry was severely affected by transport restrictions meant to halt the spread of the virus, disrupting logistics and meat output just after the African swine fever outbreak decimated local pork supplies.
