Big Dutchman marks groundbreaking ceremony with Philippine poultry farm

 

 


 

Big Dutchman marked the groundbreaking ceremony of the commencement of construction of EGGcelsior Poultry Farms, Inc. on March 8, 2018 in Argao, Cebu, the Philippines.

 

Located in the southern part of Cebu in Barangay Capio-an, Argao, EGGelsior Poultry Farm is approximately 87km from the Mactan Airport passing through Corner Talo-ot and Barangay Gutlang. The poultry farm is another 2.3km from Barangay Gutlang. The farm covers an area of approximately 11 hectares and when construction is complete, the farm will have the capacity of housing an estimated number of 600,000 birds with a combined 10 + 4 layer and pullet houses respectively.

 

It is said that EGGcelsior Poultry Farms, Inc. would be "the most innovative and modern layer farm in the Philippines" and is committed to the advancing technology in farming in the Philippines. Partnering with Big Dutchman, EGGcelsior ventures into the egg production business with a clear intent in mind.

 

"The Philippines's GDP is projected to increase by 7 to 7.5% for the year 2018 and one of the drivers to achieve this growth is the agricultural sector. We are enthusiastic and in one with our country's bullish economy. EGGcelsior will go hand in hand in providing world-class basic food products to the Cebuanos and the rest of the region through the latest state-of-the-art facilities" said Alvin Hing, President of EGGcelsior Poultry Farms, Inc.

 

He continues: "This project aims to uplift the standards of the agricultural industry in the country. We aim not only to provide quality food products but also help create job opportunities in the area while adhering to sustainable and environmental compliant operations. We would like to be part of uplifting the lives of the Filipino people."

 

The initial phase of the project will focus very much on laying the foundation and construction of the livestock houses. This will take approximately two to three months. Thereafter, the houses will be equipped with cages that is designed to accommodate about 60,000 chickens per house totalling up to approximately 600,000 chickens in the entire farm; and with the ability to produce up to 0.5 million eggs per day. With the cutting-edge technologies of Big Dutchman's equipment, eggs from EGGcelsior Poultry Farms, Inc. will be ensured of its excellent quality and health. Good quality layer and pullet houses will influence laying foundation and will therefore increase the level of productivity.
