Market analysis

AA broiler

Showing no signs of stabilising, AA broiler prices continued to fall, dropping by another 2.7% over the week. Over the past two weeks, AA broiler prices have dipped 10% as slaughterhouses limited buying while supplies were ample.

Chick prices increased RMB0.20-0.50/kg to the range of RMB2.90-3.20/kg.

China breed broiler

China breed broiler prices strengthened in the eastern region, but stayed flat or moved lower in other parts of China.

Prices of fast-growth native chicks were stable higher at RMB3-3.60/chick.

Market forecast

Broiler market is expected to stay weak amid lacklustre demand and plentiful supplies. This will put a lid on chick prices in the coming period.

RMB=US$0.1582 (Mar 22)
