Market analysis

Trade was light in methionine market, prompting a handful of traders to cut prices in efforts to close deals. However, with livestock fed sales sluggish, feed producers were not keen to stock inventories, preferring to purchases as and when required.

In Europe, prices of Q3 delivery methionine remained at EUR2/kg.

Market forecast

Buyers will not be keen to accumulate stocks of methionine with supplies plentiful and demand slow. Unless, producers cut output prominently, prices of methionine are unlikely to strengthen in the near term.
