Prices were stable.
Recovering from post-festive lows, AA broiler prices increased 2.2%. However, as the demand for chicken was not exceptionally strong, prices of AA broiler stayed below RMB8/kg in most regions.
Chick prices slid RMB0.10-0.30/kg, but remained in the high range of RMB3.20-3.50/kg.
China breed broiler
As demand recovered more strongly, prices of fast-growth native broiler rose at a faster rate of 4.4% compared with that of AA broiler. This helped to prop up day-old chick prices over the week.
Supplies of broilers are expected to increase gradually in the coming weeks, However, sales of chicken products will likely remain slow during this time of the year, hence exerting pressure on the broiler market.
Limited availability will lend support the prices of day-old chicks.
