US tariffs on Vietnamese shrimps cut to average 0.93%
US anti-dumping tariffs on Vietnamese shrimp imports have been slashed to an average level of just 0.93% during the latest review period, compared to the 6.37% in the previous period from February 2013 to January 2014, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) said.
The lower tariffs are based on preliminary results and will be finalised 90 days after they were first announced. According to the DOC, the reduction is made based on data from Bangladesh, India and Indonesia.
As part of the reduction, companies like Minh Phu SeafoodCorp. and Thuan Phuoc Corp. will pay 1.5% and 1.06% of tariffs, respectively. Fimex VN is the biggest beneficiary at 0%.
