Market analysis

AA broiler

Broiler demand was light as the market resumed trading after the official Chinese New Year holidays. As most farmers extended their holidays, releases of AA broiler were limited, helping to hold prices stable.

Chick prices were higher by RMB0.10-0.30/bird at RMB3.40-3.80/bird.

China breed broiler

China breed broiler market remained stable as well despite flat post-festive demand. However, chick prices surged prominently due to tight supplies.

Market forecast

Broiler market is expected to stay stable as inventories have decreased substantially following February's pre-festive sales.

Chick prices are seen stable to higher while farmer restock depleted inventories amid tight availability.

RMB=US$0.1574 (Mar 2)
