Due to internal production, Russia's pork demands will be fully met in the next two to three years and to be completely supplied with homemade meat and milk by 2020, the Minister for agriculture of Russia Elena Skrynnik stated Tuesday (Feb 28) during the all-Russian agrarian forum in Ufa.
"New state programme for development of agriculture and regulation of agricultural markets in 2013-20 presumes making maximally favourable conditions for development of small business undertakings in villages and for formation of the class of strong owners" - she reported.
Provision of food safety, maintaining of high level of profitability and investment attractiveness of agriculture and all-sided development of social infrastructure in the countryside will become the key goals of the programme, worked up at present time.
Besides, development of food market infrastructure, farming and small business, export of agricultural output and foods, modernisation of food and processing industry and development of strategic measures, aimed at lowering of risks in agriculture, related to unfavourable climatic conditions, will become the top priority directions in the nearest future.
