FBA Issue 31: March / April 2010

March 3 - 5, 2010
VICTAM 2010, FIAAP Asia &  GRAPAS Asia

FIAAP Asia, Victam Asia and GRAPAS Asia will offer the ideal opportunity for equipment and ingredient suppliers to meet their clients or prospective clients. Feedmillers, integrators, hatcheries and grain processors will all be strongly represented at these concurrently held events on March 3-5, 2010 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand.

The Victam Asia trade show will be attended by the world's foremost suppliers of equipment and technology used in the processing and production of livestock feed and aquafeed.

Feed Ingredients & Additives Asia Pacific (FIAAP Asia) is the recently introduced event for specialist ingredients, additives and formulation technology used in feed production.

According to Victam International's general manager, Henk van de Bunt, FIAAP and Victam Asia 2010 are already larger than the last show, which was held in Bangkok in 2008. Van de Bunt said that the markets within South and Southeast Asia had not been so badly affected by the economic slowdown and were among the first enjoy an economic recovery. The local agribusiness industry was also buoyed by a strong, longrun secular trend of rising incomes and per capita meat consumption.

He went on to say that the number of exhibitors booking space at the shows was greater than in 2008 and interestingly, many of the exhibitors had increased their exhibit stand area. He felt that the larger stands would mean that there would be more equipment on display at the fairs and that the ingredient suppliers would have more personnel on hand to explain the advantages of their specialist products within the feed production process.

Complimenting Victam and FIAAP, GRAPAS Asia is a new exhibition and conference for rice and flour milling, industrial noodle processing, breakfast cereal and extruded snack production.

Also to be featured in the show are ancillary equipment used within the industry's supply chains. Capital equipment featured will include bins, silos, weighing and batching, conveyor systems, elevators and buckets, magnetic, bags and bagging systems, quality control, transportation technology and computer based tracing and process management systems.

With three exhibitions taking place simultaneously under one roof, visitors will be able to take full advantage of their time.

All the exhibitions will be supported by a series of technical conferences and workshops.
