An eFeedLink Exclusive
Prices were mostly higher.
Slaughterhouses held back purchases while the sales of chilled chicken products were slack. Nonetheless, supplies of AA broiler were low due to high releases before Chinese New Year, hence supporting AA broiler prices to climb 4.6%.
With production low, AA chick prices rose by RMB0.60-0.80 to RMB7.70-8/chick.

Lacklustre demand dragged down the prices of fast-growth native broiler by 7.4%. Nonetheless, chick prices increased tremendously under tight availability to RMB2-2.80/chick.
Meanwhile, low supplies of hybrid broiler pushed prices up by 7.4% lately. Chick prices stayed in the low range of RMB0.70-0.75/chick.
With sales of chicken products sluggish and supplies of AA broiler expected to increase, prices should soften in the coming week. Chick prices will remain high due to insufficient availability, but are less likely to rise further at current record levels.
Native broiler markets are seen stable to weaker amid tepid demand.
