Market analysis

Producers of lysine were keen to clear stocks before the Chinese New Year holidays. However, feed millers and traders were reluctant to accumulate high inventories even as producers were willing to give discounts.

In Europe, price quotes for Q4 deliveries remained in the range of EUR1.30-1.35/kg.

Market forecast

Lysine market will be quiet as most feed producers have halted operation in preparation for the celebration of Chinese New Year. Prices are set to stay around current levels amid light trade.

After the long festive break, sales of lysine are expected to weaken due to lower hog number, a weak soymeal market and lacklustre export demand.
