Market analysis

 

Supplies of hog tightened as stormy weather in several regions continued to obstruct transportation. Meanwhile the demand for pork carcass strengthened, lifting prices significantly by 2.3% to RMB21.54/kg.

 

Over the week, prices hog increased 1.7% on average, with those in Guangdong up by almost 3%.

 

 

Market forecast                                                  

 

Demand for hog is expected to increase in the coming weeks as China prepares for the celebration of Chinese New Year. Should the deliveries of hog continued to be delayed due to the stormy climates, prices will surge further.
