Novus to present research findings at IPPE

Novus will present their most recent research findings at the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) February 12-14, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

"We are excited to continue our campaign of 'Pushing Boundaries' at IPPE in 2019 as that is where our customer-focused plans are taking us," said Scott Hine, vice president and chief innovation officer at St. Louis-based Novus. "Thirty years ago, Novus was only producing and marketing methionine (ALIMET® feed supplement). Today we have a diverse list of specialty products for poultry, livestock and aquaculture that have nutritional benefits to bolster animal immunity, mitigate environmental impact, lend support to antibiotic-free operations, as well as protect and preserve animal feed. Our innovative products and research-supported solutions and applications are the pathways to how Novus is pushing the boundaries of what is expected in animal nutrition."

Novus's campaign for IPPE focuses on three areas of poultry science: gut health, meat quality, and maternal nutrition. Four key Novus scientists will present their research on the following topics: measurements to determine soybean digestibility, programmes based on the efficacy and benefit of organic acids and essential oils for gut health in an antibiotic-free production programme, and the benefits of post-pellet application of fat and enzymes.

"The agriculture industry is changing to meet consumer demands," said Mercedes Vazquez-Añon, senior director of animal nutrition at Novus. "Feed is being processed at higher temperatures to ensure safety. Ingredients are coming from new or different locations. Consumers want to see low antibiotic use or antibiotic-free meat on their tables. The research that we are presenting at IPPE comes in response to these industry changes. We're showing that Novus is working with, and will continue to work with, producers to ensure they can meet evolving consumer demands."
