ICC Brazil releases video on yeast-based additive

Animal nutrition represents about 75% of total production costs. Compounds that constitute the diet of animals must meet nutritional needs and provide support for the cells and microbiota of the gastrointestinal tract so that they can assist in immunomodulation, intestinal integrity, and adsorption of mycotoxins.

Studies prove the benefits of yeast-based additives to several animal species. ICC Brazil's R&D Coordinator Melina Bonato will introduce one of their new experiment at IPPE 2019 in Atlanta, United States. The results come from a study carried out by the Imunova Análises Biológicas team, from Curitiba (Paraná). This study challenged broilers with Salmonella enteritidis (SE); broilers were fed with diets supplemented with and without ImmunoWall®.

To explain the function of one of these additives, the company launched an explanatory video on ImmunoWall. The product ensures that animals maintain the balance of the intestinal microbiota and improve the responses of the immune system, reducing the contamination and translocation of pathogenic bacteria to other organs of the body. As a consequence, animal health and performance improves significantly.

"This video shows how ICC produces yeast and how ImmunoWall works inside the animals' intestine. Since we were struggling to explain some concepts to our customers, we had this idea to create the video," said Aline Almeida, ICC Brazil Marketing Coordinator.
